I’d liek to believe that the guy saw a classic car and thought, look at those beautiful leather bonnet straps. I need those. But instead of adding leather straps to his generic midsize sedan, he ran a ratchet strap from fender to fender.

I’m thinking the more likely scenario is that his POS hood wouldn’t stay closed and he thought, yes, this is a good idea, i’ll use a ratchet strap instead of fixing it.

That was me once. For like a few days. How do you know this person doesn’t have parts on order? What if they are poor and need to wait a for another paycheck? I had to wait a few days before I had a day off to go to the junkyard. I wonder how many people thought I was never going to fix it.
